Forever Together scores in Forward Gal Augustin Stable's FOREVER TOGETHER (Belong to Me) posted an easy two-length victory with jockey Elvis Trujillo while making her graded debut on Saturday in the $150,000 Forward Gal S. (G2) at Gulfstream Park. The Jonathan Sheppard-trained sophomore was sent off the 5-1 fourth choice to return $12.20, $4.80 and $3.60 to her faithful backers and keyed $1 exotics of $21.30 (exacta), $64.40 (trifecta) and $296.60 (6-1-7-2 superfecta). Forever Together bobbled a bit at the start before rushing up to take a brief lead. She was quickly overcome by Changeisgonnacome (Cherokee Run) and settled into second, stalking just to the outside of the pacesetter through splits of :22 1/5 and :45 1/5. Entering the stretch, the gray miss began to pick up the pace, passing the longtime leader on the outside and easily holding all challengers at bay to finish seven furlongs on the fast dirt in 1:22 3/5. Silver Knockers (Silver Deputy), the 2-1 favorite, was just in behind the two leaders early and moved up to take second by 3 3/4 lengths over You Asked (Yes It's True), paying $4 and $2.60. Show was worth $2.60 as the 5-2 second pick You Asked held third by a nose over Awsugahnow (Forestry). Next under the line were Changeisgonnacome, Boca Grande (A.P. Indy) and Bold Assurance (Stormy Atlantic). Forever Together remains undefeated with this victory, breaking her maiden in her debut by 3 1/4 lengths before capturing the O.B.S. Sprint S. most recently by 2 1/2 lengths. She's now earned $144,000 to go along with her 3-3-0-0 mark. "She ran well to break her maiden at Delaware and she was eligible for the OBS race, which is a restricted race and essentially amounted to a 'non-winners' of two," Sheppard said. "That was a step up and today was another big step. So far, so good. I can't say what might be next, but (owner) Mr. (George) Strawbridge is partial to Keeneland." Bred by White Fox Farm in Kentucky, Forever Together brought $240,000 as an OBS March two-year-old. She is out of the unraced Relaunch mare Constant Companion, making her a half-sister to multiple stakes-placed Princess Patricia (Aptitude) and an unnamed juvenile colt by Harlan's Holiday.
