Dream Rush romps in Nassau

West Point Stable et al.'s DREAM RUSH (Wild Rush) was never threatened by her four rivals in Saturday's $196,600 Nassau County Breeders' Cup S. (G2), leading gate-to-wire in the seven-furlong test with jockey Eibar Coa. Crossing the finish 9 1/4 lengths the best, the Richard Violette-trained sophomore filly cruised through splits of :22 3/5, :45 1/5 and 1:09 3/5 while widening her advantage at every call, and she finished up in 1:22 over the fast Belmont Park track.

Favored at 1-5, Dream Rush paid $2.70, $2.40 and $2.10. Lady Marlboro (Smoke Glacken) rallied from last for second at 10-1, giving back $4.90 and $4.40 after hitting the wire 2 1/4 lengths ahead of the 13-1 Changeisgonnacome (Cherokee Run), who returned $4. The exacta was worth $16.60, and the 2-4-3 trifecta $84.50. Cash's Girl (Northern Afleet) came next, while Lia's Luck (Smoke Glacken) was pulled up and vanned off.

Bred in Kentucky by James Petrey Jr., Dream Rush sold for $285,000 at last year's OBS February two-year-old sale and hails from the unraced Unbridled mare Turbo Dream, who is also the dam of the stakes-placed filly Neeranjanie (Gentlemen [Arg]) and a yearling filly by Salt Lake. Dream Rush was exiting a victory in the Old Hat S. (G3) at Gulfstream and has now earned $249,739 from a 5-4-1-0 line.

Violette said he will point the dark bay lass to the June 9 Acorn S. (G1).
