Filly is a Foxy Senorita

Warren Williamson's FOXYSOX (GB) (Foxhound) ran like a 4-5 favorite should in Saturday's $100,000 Senorita S. (G3) at Hollywood Park, rallying from the back of the mile test to score by 1 1/4 lengths at the wire. Running three wide down the backstretch and five wide around the turn, the Carla Gaines-trained sophomore finished the firm turf test in 1:35 1/5 under jockey Alex Bisono and paid out $3.80, $2.60 and $2.10 to her faithful supporters.

Arlene (Game Plan) came from last to get a head in front during the stretch, but couldn't hold off the winner, settling for second at 5-1 and returning $3.80 and $2.40 while ending the $9.30 exacta ($1). Shermeen (Ire) (Desert Style) was another two lengths back in third after setting the early pace and gave back $2.40 at 3-1 while finishing the $18.20 trifecta (5-4-3) ($1). No Greater Love (Stravinsky) and Man Hunter (Jade Hunter) completed the order under the wire after Horse B With You (Slewdledo) was withdrawn.

Foxysox improved her record to 9-4-0-2, having already captured the Providencia S. (G3) and China Doll S. in her two prior, and moved her earnings to $250,824. The chestnut miss, bred in Great Britain by B. J. and Mrs. Crangle, is out of Triple Tricks (Royal Academy), who also has an unraced juvenile named Ishimagic (Ishiguru).
