Any Limit overcomes trouble to take First Lady Joseph V. Shields Jr.'s homebred ANY LIMIT (Limit Out) broke tardily but circled her foes and pulled away to an impressive 2 1/2-length win in the $100,000 First Lady H. (G3) at Gulfstream Park on Saturday. The Allen Jerkens charge was slow out of the gate but got into contention quickly to press the pace three wide before putting in her winning run down the lane under Rafael Bejarano. The final time for six furlongs on the fast dirt was 1:10 2/5, and the 5-2 second choice gave back $7.60, $4 and $3.60 while topping $1 exotics of $14.20 (exacta), $97.80 (trifecta) and $505.30 (6-5-2-8 superfecta). Contrast (Unbridled) set the early pace and dueled with the winner leading into the stretch, but could not match strides late, ultimately settling for the place at 3-1. The runner-up was worth $4.20 and $3.60. Actslikealady (Lord Carson) closed well along the rail in tight quarters to garner show honors another nose back. Show paid $6.60 for the 22-1 shot. Flying Circle (Pembroke) finished off the super at 19-1 another neck back, and was followed by even-money choice Malibu Mint (Malibu Moon), Leona's Knight (Suave Prospect), Annabill (Outflanker) and No Hear Say (Impeachment). Any Limit bagged her first graded win here, upping her career mark to 13-5-0-3 with earnings of $204,774. The four-year-old captured the My Flag S. two prior and placed in the Top Secret S. in her most recent effort. Bred in the Bluegrass State, Any Limit was produced from the winning Forty Niner mare Clandestinely and has an unnamed three-year-old half-sister by Langfuhr.
