Keeneland to offer ten-cent superfecta wager Keeneland will offer superfecta wagers for as little as 10 cents during the upcoming spring meet that opens on Friday. Called fractional wagering in Europe, the dime option will be available on all races in which a superfecta wager is offered. "A dime superfecta allows bettors to play many more combinations at a fraction of the cost," Keeneland President Nick Nicholson said. "We expect this wager to appeal to a wide-range of fans, especially novice bettors. This is especially important at Keeneland, where on any given race day, approximately 12 percent of our fans are first-time visitors." A ten-cent superfecta greatly reduces the cost of playing multiple-horse combinations. For example, a ten-cent, four-horse superfecta box costs $2.40 while a $1, four-horse superfecta box costs $24. Accordingly, the payoffs for ten-cent superfectas are one-tenth that of the $1 payoff. Sam Houston Race Park was the first Thoroughbred track in the United States to offer the micro wager on February 17, followed by Hawthorne Race Course on April 2.
