Afleet Alex blazes five furlongs in :59
Turf Paradise Derby winner GENERAL JOHN B (Sweetsouthernsaint), who finished a game second, beaten a half-length, in the Santa Anita Derby (G1), worked six furlongs in 1:13 over a fast track at Santa Anita on Tuesday. The Roger Stein trainee is scheduled to ship to Churchill Downs on Saturday. In other Kentucky Derby news: Lane's End S. (G2) winner FLOWER ALLEY (Distorted Humor), second to Afleet Alex in the Arkansas Derby, galloped 1 1/2 miles in blinkers, as he has done the past few days. "We just want him to get accustomed to them, because he is going to run in them for the first time in the Derby," trainer Todd Pletcher said. "He's a little unfocused and we want to get him zoned in." Trainer Nick Zito plans to breeze ANDROMEDA'S HERO (Fusaichi Pegasus) at Churchill Downs on Thursday or Friday depending on the weather. The high-strung colt, who finished third in the Arkansas Derby, is currently stabled at Keeneland.
