No changes among leaders in KDFW after Day 2; Unlimited Budget on top in KOFW There was no change in the top two positions on the odds board after the second day of betting in Pool 2 of the 2013 Kentucky Derby Future Wager (KDFW), but odds on unbeaten Vyjack (#23) dipped after his impressive victory in the Grade 3 Gotham at Aqueduct, Saturday's major prep for the 139th Kentucky Derby. The mutuel field (#24), also known as All Others, was a strong 3-1 bettors' choice at the end of the second of three days of Kentucky Derby Future betting, while unbeaten Verrazano (#22) remained the favored individual at 9-1. While there was no change in the position for those Derby Futures betting interests, Vyjack's odds tumbled to 14-1 by the late-evening close of Saturday's betting. Vyjack had been a 23-1 risk at the end of Friday's opening day of Pool 2 betting. Kentucky Derby fans have wagered $181,053 through the first two days of Pool 2. The two-day total includes $43,656 in exacta wagering. In Churchill Downs' 2013 Kentucky Oaks Future Wager (KOFW), unbeaten Unlimited Budget (#23), reigning two-year-old filly champion Beholder (#1) and the popular All Others (#24) wagering interest are atop a tightly-packed group that is battling to determine the betting favorite in the three-day betting pool that is set to close early Sunday evening. Unlimited Budget, the Todd Pletcher-trained winner of the Grade 3 Rachel Alexandra at Fair Grounds on February 23, was a narrow 7-1 favorite after Saturday's betting among the 24 betting interests in the lone Kentucky Oaks Future Wager pool of 2013 drew to a close. The mutuel field was next at 8-1, which was also the price on Beholder after the Richard Mandella-trained champion had opened Saturday's betting as a 10-1 risk. Beholder enhanced her reputation with a romping win in Saturday's Grade 1 Las Virgenes at Santa Anita. The Grade 1, $1 million Kentucky Oaks has seen a total $45,352 wagered during the first two days of the pool, which included $12,550 in exacta betting. Wagering on the third and final days of KDFW Pool 2 and the KOFW resumed at noon (EST) at racetracks and OTB's across North America and online at TwinSpires.com and other advance deposit wagering platforms.
