2020 Kentucky Derby Future Wager Pool 1 opens on Thanksgiving

Pool 1 of the 2020 Kentucky Derby Future Wager (KDFW) will be offered this week beginning Thanksgiving Day and concluding Sunday at 6 p.m. (EST). The pool features $2 Win and Exacta wagering and runs concurrently with the fifth annual Kentucky Derby Sire Future Wager.

The Kentucky Derby Future Wager provides fans with opportunities to place bets on possible entrants at odds that could be greater than those available on Derby Day next May 2. Bets can be placed at Churchill Downs, TwinSpires.com, and other online and satellite wagering centers across North America.
As is customary, the pari-mutuel field of "All Other 3-Year-Old Colts and Geldings" was installed as the 6- morning line favorite for Pool. The individual co-favorites are Nashua (G3) winner Independence Hall and Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) upsetter Storm the Court, which are pegged at 12-1 odds.
In the Kentucky Derby Sire Future Wager, offspring of Constitution are 6-1 on the morning line, while those sired by 2015 Triple Crown winner American Pharoah are listed at 8-1.
There are no refunds in the Kentucky Derby Future Wager. Should Churchill Downs officials determine during the duration of this week's four-day pool that one of the wagering interests has experienced an injury, illness or other circumstance that would prevent the horse from participating in the Kentucky Derby, betting on the individual horse will be suspended immediately.
