Sweet Catomine tops Oaks Future Wager

SWEET CATOMINE (Storm Cat), who closed as the 9-2 favorite in the first Kentucky

Oaks Future Wager, has been installed as the 4-1 choice on the morning line for

Pool 2, which opens Thursday at noon (EST) and continues through 6 p.m. Sunday.

The two-year-old juvenile filly champion's odds would be much lower if the

public knew she was headed to the May 6 event, but her status is clouded in

considerable doubt with the Kentucky Derby (G1) a very viable option for the

talented lass at this point.

"The

biggest question that fans of the Kentucky Oaks Future Wager must answer about

Sweet Catomine is whether they think she will run in the Oaks or take on the

boys in the Kentucky Derby," Churchill oddsmaker Mike Battaglia said.

If Sweet Catomine,

who will run in Saturday's Santa Anita

Oaks (G1), does bypass the Kentucky Oaks (G1), the remaining

contestants could all prove to be huge overlays in Pool 2 of the Future Wager.

SIS CITY (Slew City Slew), who opened her 2005 season with a

16-length score in the Davona Dale S. (G2), is the co-second choice on the morning line at 6-1 with the mutuel field of "all other three-year-old fillies."
