Acclamation colt in demand at Tattersalls

Friday's penultimate session of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale was

topped by Lot No. 1873, a 72,000gns Acclamation colt bought by agent Amanda Skiffington from the Shinglis Stud draft.

"He's going to Roger Charlton, and is

a lovely big horse who should, hopefully be a nice two-year-old," Skiffington

said. "Obviously the fact that he was by Acclamation helped; they all have the

most wonderful temperament." Charlie Gordon-Watson was underbidder on the colt,

who had previously changed hands for just 6,500gns as a foal.

Earlier in the

evening, Gill Richardson, standing with Hamdan Al Maktoum's racing manager Angus

Gold, bought Lot 1820, for 62,000gns. The daughter of Efisio was consigned

by Sussex Stud.

"She was a racy two-year-old out of a Pivotal mare with a bit

of pedigree," Richardson said.

Part Three of the October Yearling Sale concludes

with a session on Saturday. Complete results are available on www.tattersalls.com.
