Group 1 winner Amadeus Wolf  (Mozart [Ire]) has been retired and will

head to the Irish National Stud. Trained by Kevin Ryan, the four-year-old colt

recorded a 17-4-2-2 mark over three seasons of racing. His biggest career

success came in the 2005 Middle Park S. (Eng-G1) at Newmarket, and he also captured the same year's Gimcrack S. (Eng-G2) at York.

This season, he defeated eventual Haydock Sprint Cup (Eng-G1) hero Red

Clubs (Red Ransom) when taking the Duke of York S. (Eng-G2) at York in May.

Owners John Duddy and Brendan McDonald sold a 50-percent share to Co. Kildare

Stud and Dermot Farrington Bloodstock after his success in the Middle Park. No fee has been set for the four-year-old, who was also runner-up in the

Nunthorpe S. (Eng-G1) and third in the Prix Maurice de Gheest (Gr-G3) and

Haydock Sprint Cup last year.

"Amadeus Wolf is exceptionally good-looking," commented the Stud's

Chairperson Lady Chryss O'Reilly. "And being a grandson of Danehill from the

most sought after sire-line in Europe, breeders will no doubt be very eager to

support him next season."
