Although things hadn’t quite worked out for Nations Pride of late, Sunday’s Arlington Million (G1) shaped up as the ideal spot for the Godolphin globetrotter to return to the win column.

The first Arlington Million (G1) staged at Colonial Downs conjured up thoughts of the Old Dominion’s history, as the lone British-bred in the field, Set Piece, rolled in course-record time.

Godolphin’s homebred Santin, who broke through with his first stakes win in the Turf Classic (G1) on Kentucky Derby Day, followed up over the same Churchill Downs course and distance in Saturday’s Arlington Million (G1).

Churchill Downs has announced that the Louisville track will host the $1 million Arlington Million (G1) and other stakes formerly held at Arlington Park during 2022.
