TRACK BANDIT PREVIEWS

A talented field of five will travel 1 1/8 miles in the $600,000 Beldame S.

(G1) at Belmont Park on Saturday. The two-horse entry of CAPTAIN'S LOVER (SAf)

(Captain Al) and UNBRIDLED BELLE (Broken Vow) looks strong, but we must side

with classy MUSIC NOTE (A.P. Indy). The Godolphin filly was last seen dominating

the Ballerina S. (G1) at a distance that might be shorter than her best, a

performance that signaled just how good she is. A three-time Grade 1 victress

over this surface last campaign, the four-year-old has won four of her six local

starts and appears to be the standout in this compact group for trainer Saeed

bin Suroor. Rajiv Maragh retains the mount.

We have always liked Unbridled Belle, but were mystified by the poor showing

by the mare in the Personal Ensign S. (G1) for Pletcher last out. The

accomplished six-year-old toppled a solid field in 2007 to win this event, and

if she quickly reverses form she should complete the exacta beneath Ramon

Dominguez.

Group 1 queen Captain's Lover cruised home by seven lengths in the Matchmaker

S. at Monmouth in her lone dirt start but steps up in class on this day for

Pletcher. The five-year-old, who tired to sixth after establishing a moderate

tempo in the Ballston Spa H. (G2) last out, will need something better than

we've seen since she's been in the U. S.

The hard-knocking COPPER STATE (Jump Start) is Grade 1–placed over this strip

and could rally for a small share while probably not challenging for the win.

WITH FLYING COLORS (A.P. Indy) has yet to prove that she belongs with this type

and can't be endorsed against these.
