Broken Vow colt tops final Fasig-Tipton session

Stables, agent, the bay colt is a half-brother to stakes winner Kat Nan Do

(Formal Gold). He is out of the winning French Deputy mare French Grand and is

from the same female family as 1993 Norfolk S. (G2) winner Sheperd's Field

(Spectacular Bid) and 2003 Colleen S. winner Fashion Girl (Tactical Cat).

At last week's under tack show, the colt blazed a quarter-mile in :21 2/5.

The Kentucky-bred previously sold for $140,000 at last year's Fasig-Tipton

Kentucky July Yearling Sale.

A lass by freshman sire Kafwain, Hip 606, was the highest-priced filly, bringing

$355,000 from D J Stable and Harold Lerner. Consigned by Murray Smith, agent,

the dark bay filly is the first foal out of Dotsie's Doll (Allen's Prospect), a

sister to stakes-placed Gracie Allen and a half-sister to True Chompion (True

Colors), the granddam of Grade 2 winner and millionaire Sir Shackleton

(Miswaki).

At the under tack show, the filly zipped one furlong in a bullet :10 1/5. The

New York-bred filly previously sold for $98,000 as a weanling at the 2005 Fasig-Tipton

Midlantic December Sale.

On Tuesday, 174 horses sold for $10,340,000, a 9.4 percent decrease compared

to last

year when 187 horses sold on the final session for $11,409,500. The average

price slipped 2.6 percent, from $61,013 to $59,425. The median price increased

20 percent, from $30,000 to $36,000.

For the two-day auction, 350 horses sold for $19,498,700, a decline of 8.2 percent

compared to last year when 370 horses sold for $21,236,500. The average fell 2.9 percent, from $57,396 to $55,711, while the median rose 15

percent, from $30,000 to $34,500.
