New Farm's homebred WILD GAMS (Forest Wildcat) saved ground along the rail

early, eased through an opening between horses entering the stretch, and powered

clear to an ultra impressive 3 1/2 length tally in the $110,600

at Aqueduct on Saturday. Trained by Ben Perkins Jr. and ridden by Eibar Coa, the

three-year-old lass tracked splits of :22 3/5 and :45 4/5 for the half-mile,

before spurting clear and completing the six furlong dash in a swift 1:09 3/5.

Sent off at odds of 5-2, the bay gave back $7.40, $3.30 and $2.50 while topping

the $19.60 exacta and $64 trifecta.

The previously unbeaten Celestial Legend (City Zip) bounded to the front soon after the

start and finished admirably to keep a hold on the place spot, 2 1/2 lengths

clear of her nearest pursuer. The 9-5 choice returned $3.20 and $2.50. Oprah Winney (Royal Academy) chased the speed early and finished 5 1/4 lengths clear

of fourth, paying $3.50 for the show at 5-2. Swap Fliparoo (Exchange Rate) was

next and trailed by Vasa (City Zip), Spenny (Menifee) and Renew (Forest Camp).

Ring True (Is It True) was withdrawn.

Wild Gams has now reeled off three rather facile wins in 2006, including a

win in the Oxford Scholar S. most recently. The Jersey-bred has now amassed

$171,079 in earnings from a 7-4-1-0 lifetime mark.

The winner was produced from the stakes winning Diamond and Legs (Quiet

American) and was preceded in stakes glory by her full brother Diamond Wildcat, winner of the

2005 Horatius S.

Perkins doesn't have any firm plans for Wild Gams' next start.

"There are some nice races here, so I'm not sure we'll have to ship around."
