Distorted Humor to stand for $300,000 in 2008

WinStar Farm announced on Friday that leading sire DISTORTED HUMOR (Forty

Niner) will see his stud fee raised to $300,000 in 2008, joining A.P. Indy and

Storm Cat as North America's most expensive stallion. The 14-year-old horse

stood for $225,000 in 2007.

"Distorted Humor has set the standard for our stallion operation at WinStar,"

farm president Doug Cauthen stated. "He represents the model of consistency of a

great sire. He ended 2006 as the leading sire of stakes winners in North America

with 20. In 2007, he is the leading sire of (Grade 1) winners and co-leading

sire of

stakes winners with 18."

Distorted Humor has been represented by a trio of Grade 1 winners this year

Invitational Challenge Cup S. (G1) queen Bit of Whimsy and Breeders' Cup

Distaff (G1) runner-up Hystericalady, who captured the Humana Distaff S. (G1).

"With five individual $1-million-plus yearlings at Keeneland September,

coupled with his year-in, year-out success with top-class runners, we feel he

has found himself in a class alongside A.P. Indy and Storm Cat," Cauthen added.

Dual Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) winner and 2000 Horse of the Year TIZNOW

(Cee's Tizzy) is the only other stallion at WinStar who will see his fee

increased. The 10-year-old will stand 2008 for $30,000, an increase of $5,000

over 2007.
