Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale set for Monday

Fasig-Tipton will stage its Winter Mixed Sale at Newtown Paddocks near

Lexington, Kentucky, on Monday. The one-day, continuous session auction will

begin at 10 a.m. (EST).

"This is an attractive sale from several different perspectives," Fasig-Tipton

President Boyd Browning said.

"There are several mares in foal to 2009 leading sires such as Medaglia d'Oro,"

Browning noted. "We have a number of broodmare prospects coming off the track

with graded stakes qualifications.

"In addition we have 115 yearlings cataloged with domestic and international

pedigree appeal."

The catalog was originally 337 strong, but as of Sunday morning, 58 horses

had been withdrawn.

Among sires with first-crop yearlings on offer are Japanese champion Hat

Trick (Jpn) and Grade 1 winners After Market, Bob and John, Flashy Bull and

Latent Heat.

Covering sires, whose first foals are just arriving this season, include

champion Midnight Lute and Grade 1 victors Heatseeker (Ire), Into Mischief,

Majestic Warrior, Nobiz Like Shobiz and Student Council.
