Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale to open

The Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale opens Sunday at Newtown Paddocks

in Lexington, Kentucky. The auction runs through Monday, with each day's

sessions beginning at 11 a.m. (EST). Originally, 503 horses were cataloged, but

seven more were added to bring the total to 510.

The broodmares or broodmare prospects on offer are by such top sires as

Danzig, Dixieland Band, Dynaformer, El Prado (Ire), Fappiano, Forestry, Forty

Niner, Fusaichi Pegasus, Giant's Causeway, Gone West, Gulch, Langfuhr, Miswaki,

Mr. Greeley, Mr. Prospector, Mt. Livermore, Pleasant Colony, Pulpit, Royal

Academy, Sadler's Wells, Saint Ballado, Seattle Slew, Silver Hawk, Smart Strike,

Theatrical (Ire), Thunder Gulch, Unbridled, Valid Appeal, Vice Regent and

Woodman.

Covering sires include Chapel Royal, First Samurai, Forest Danger, Giacomo,

Good Reward, Harlan's Holiday, Kitten's Joy, Lion Heart, Perfect Soul (Ire),

Rockport Harbor, Silver Train, Speightstown and Tale of the Cat.

Among the stallions represented by first- or second-crop yearlings are Afleet
