Post positions for Saturday's

Arlington Million (G1) were drawn Tuesday at

the ESPN Zone in downtown Chicago, and the 27th running of the prestigious 1

1/4-mile turf affair will feature a match-up between America's premier turf

horses, GIO PONTI (Tale of the Cat) and EINSTEIN (Brz) (Spend a Buck). The

multiple Grade 1-winning millionaires highlight a field of nine which includes

three international raiders.

Gio Ponti will enter on a three-race, Grade 1-winning tear for conditioner

Christophe Clement, recording victories from distances of a mile to 1 3/8 miles.

After easily winning the Manhattan H. (G1) at the Million distance two starts

back, the versatile four-year-old colt strolled home a convincing 1 3/4-length

scorer in the 11-furlong Man o' War S. (G1) on July 18. Listed as the

5-2 favorite on the morning line, Gio Ponti will break from post 6 with regular

rider Ramon Dominguez.

Einstein, who stumbled at the start and wound up a non-threatening fifth in

last year's Million, is eligible to show much more this time around. The Helen

Pitts-Blasi trainee is at the top of his game at age seven, winning the Santa

Anita H. (G1) prior to a victory in the Woodford Reserve Turf Classic (G1) on

the Kentucky Derby (G1) undercard, and his close third in the Stephen Foster H.

(G1) most recently came on dirt. Julien Leparoux will be back in the saddle aboard

the classy turf horse, who drew the rail and was installed as the 4-1 second

choice on the morning line.

Gloria de Campeao is but one of three European raiders

European invader CIMA DE TRIOMPHE (Ire) (Galileo [Ire]) is the early 9-2

third choice. Fourth behind the superb Sea the Stars (Cape Cross [Ire]) in the

Eclipse S. (Eng-G1) last out, the Luca Cumani-trained colt captured the

Brigadier Gerard S. (Eng-G3) two starts back. Jockey Christophe Lemaire will accompany

the four-year-old. GLORIA DE CAMPEAO (Brz) (Impression) exits a victory in the

Singapore Airlines International Cup (Mal-G1) and was second in the Dubai Word

Cup (UAE-G1). He comes next on the morning line at 5-1, and the Pascal Bary runner

will have Tiago Josue Pereira in the irons. STOTSGOLD (GB) (Barathea [Ire]), who

will invade off a triumph in the La Coupe S. (Fr-G3) at Longchamp, rounds out

the international contingent. The Walter Swinburn pupil is 12-1 on the morning

line with Adam Kirby.

The other Million contestants are PRESIOUS PASSION (Royal Anthem), who

defended his title in spectacular fashion in the United Nations S. (G1) last

out, leading by at least 20 lengths early before comfortably holding on for a

two-length decision; Maker's Mark Mile (G1) hero MR. SIDNEY (Storm Cat), who

will stretch out in distance off a 1 1/2-length score in the Firecracker H. (G2)

at Churchill Downs; JUST AS WELL (A.P. Indy), who captured the 10-furlong

Arlington H. (G3) in advance of Saturday's class test; and longshot

RECAPTURETHEGLORY (Cherokee Run).
