Gulf Storm filly breezes three furlongs in :33 2/5 at under

RAGING PRUNE FACE (Gulf Storm), consigned as Hip No. 897 by Sescan LLC,
agent, sped the fastest three furlongs in :33 2/5 at the third session of the
under tack show for the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's Spring Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training on
Thursday. The dark bay miss is out of the winning Raging Dancer (Dance
Brightly), who is a half-sister to multiple stakes winners Greed is Good (Unbridled) and
Ms. Gold Pole (North Pole) as well as the stakes-placed Gold n' Ship (Pilot
Ship). The Florida-bred juvenile sold for $4,200 as an OBS January yearling last
season.
Four juveniles went the fastest eighth in :10. Hip 782, a bay filly by
Officer, is from the consignment of Excel Bloodstock (Bruno DeBerdt & Rudy
Delguidice), agent and brought $65,000 at the OBS January sale as a yearling. She is out of
the stakes-placed Not to be Outdone (Smile), who is a half-sister to the multiple
stakes-winning and Grade 3-placed Crystal Sea (Sea Hero). Hip 847, a bay colt by
City Zip, is out of the winning Play Po (Play On). A half-brother to Grade
3-placed Premier Performer (Conquistador Cielo), he comes from the same family
as Grade 2 winner and Kentucky Derby (G1) contender Smooth Air (Smooth Jazz). He
is consigned by Woodside Ranch, agent. As a yearling, he sold for $15,000 at
Keeneland September.
A Langfuhr filly consigned by Niall Brennan Stables, agent, as Hip 896 also
went an eighth in :10. She is out of the
stakes-placed Race to Glory (Honour and Glory), who is herself a daughter of
Group 1 heroine Fortissima (Chi) (Roy). Finally, Hip 997, a dark bay filly from
the first crop of Pleasantly Perfect, rounded out the quickest furlong workers. Out of Group 1
winner Separata (Chi) (Sam M.), the Kentucky-bred is consigned by Harris
Training Center LLC, agent.
Four workers posted the quickest two-furlong moves of the under tack show in
:21. Hip 718, a dark bay Songandaprayer colt out of the unraced Miss
Delta (Chief's Crown), comes from the same family as English highweight and
Grade 1 victor Magistretti (Diesis [GB]). Consigned by James Layden, agent, the
Florida-bred was a $30,000 Keeneland September yearling. Likewise earning a
share of the bullet was Hip 826, a dark bay filly from the first crop of Roar of
the Tiger. She is out of the unraced Penn Central (Sultry Song) and from the same family as
the stakes-winning, multiple Grade 1-placed Make Change (Roberto) and Grade
3-winning classic placer Andromeda's Hero (Fusaichi Pegasus). A $5,500 OBS
August yearling, the Florida-bred youngster is offered by Blue River Bloodstock,
agent.
Hip 907, a
chestnut Posse filly out of the winning Real Crafty Belle (Crafty Prospector),
also blazed in :21 for consignor O & H Bloodstock (Terry Oliver and Bo Hunt),
agent. The Kentucky-bred's second dam is English stakes winner Green's Belle
(GB) (Night Shift). Hip 986,
a chestnut colt by High Yield, turned in the same swift time. Named STORM DOOR,
the Florida-bred was produced by the winning See U At My Window (Piccolino) and
hails from the consignment of Blue River Bloodstock, agent. He was an $8,500 OBS
August yearling.
The fourth and final under tack show will get underway at 9 a.m. (EDT) on
Friday with Hips 1037-1381. The sale is scheduled to begin Monday at 10:30 a.m.
and continue through next Thursday.
