Haradasun to join O'Brien in Ireland
Multiple Group 1 winner HARADASUN (Fusaichi Pegasus) has been transferred
from Melbourne-based conditioner Tony Vasil to Aidan O'Brien and will now head
to Ireland.
Coolmore purchased 50 percent of Haradasun from owner/breeder Frank
Tagg and his partners earlier this year. After the sale, the four-year-old was
runner-up in three straight group races before finishing third in the Turnbull S.
(Aus-G1) and the Cox Plate (Aus-G1). He was eased near the finish of Saturday's Mackinnon S.
(Aus-G1) and beat just one home. Jockey Damien Oliver told stewards Haradasun felt "short in his action." Vasil later reported Haradasun was lame in
his nearside foreleg, but X-rays revealed nothing serious was amiss.
The bay
colt, who has six wins from 16 career starts and has earned A$2,376,350, will
get a winter vacation. O'Brien indicated Haradasun will be aimed for the Queen Anne S.
(Eng-G1) at Royal Ascot next year with a title in the Breeders Cup Mile (G1) at
Santa Anita a possibility.
Haradasun will leave Australia on the first available
flight.
