Heat causes more cancellations
The heat wave engulfing the central and eastern United States has caused
additional racetrack cancellations for Friday and Saturday.
In addition to Monmouth Park, which announced Thursday that it would not
conduct its Friday program due to the extreme heat, Presque Isle Downs,
Thistledown and Penn National have also canceled their Friday cards. All four tracks are scheduled
to run Saturday.
Meanwhile, Delaware Park and Parx Racing have announced that they will not
conduct racing on Saturday due to the adverse weather. Parx Racing is next
scheduled to run on Sunday, while Delaware Park is scheduled to return to action
on Monday.
Further cancellations will be announced here when they become available.
