Hennessy, Boundary fillies drill a quarter-mile in :21
Hip No. 60, ROSY WREATH (Hennessy), and Hip 116, a Boundary filly, each
drilled a quarter-mile in :21 during Monday's final training preview for the
Keeneland April Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale in Lexington, Kentucky. This is
the first juvenile auction in North America to use a Polytrack surface for its
under tack shows.
Rosy Wreath is consigned by Sequel Bloodstock (Becky Thomas), agent. The
Maryland-bred filly is the second foal from Royal Feat (Kingmambo), who is a
half-sister to stakes-winning, stakes producer Blue Sky Princess (Conquistador
Cielo) as well as stakes victress Vaguely Rich (Caveat). This is the family of
Grade 1 queen Reluctant Guest (Hostage). In the first training preview on April
9, the bay juvenile worked one furlong in :10.
The Boundary filly was produced by the stakes-winning Housebuster mare Aces,
making her a full sister to Bank President, who finished third in the John B.
Campbell Breeders' Cup H. on February 17. The youngster hails from the same
female line as multiple Grade 1 hero and $1.8-million earner Ruhlmann (Mr.
Leader). Offered by Kirkwood Stables, agent, the bay clocked :21 2/5 for a
quarter-mile last week.
A colt by Elusive Quality reeled off the fastest furlong in :10 for O & H
Bloodstock, agent. Cataloged as Hip 104, the chestnut is out of multiple stakes
winner and Grade 2-placed Up an Eighth (Ferdinand) and comes from the family of
multiple Grade 1 star, $2.6 million-earner and noted sire Broad Brush (Ack Ack).
The juvenile covered the same distance in :10 1/5 during the initial preview.
Hip 124, a son of Kingmambo, turned in the swiftest quarter-mile on the turf
when exercising in :22. From the consignment of Stephens Thoroughbreds, agent,
the dark bay is the second foal produced by French Group 1 heroine Amonita (GB)
(Anabaa), who is herself a half-sister to multiple Grade 3 winner Cox Orange (Trempolino),
the dam of English stakes victress and classic-placed Vista Bella (Diktat). Last
week, the two-year-old sped one furlong on the main track in :10 3/5.
The sale begins Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. (EDT). For more information, visit
