In Summation wraps up first winner

Grade 1-winning millionaire In Summation (Put It Back) got off the mark as a

freshman sire when Debmar Stables' No Fruit Degroote scored in Saturday's

5TH

race at Delaware Park. With Daniel Coa aboard, the Ricky Griffith pupil

argued the pace before sprinting clear. The 4-1 chance defeated 7-5 favorite

Hope on the Rocks (Harlan's Holiday) by 1 1/2 lengths and finished 4 1/2

fast-track furlongs in :53 1/5.

Bred by Big C Farm in Florida, No Fruit Degroote was sold for $25,000 as an

OBS August yearling. The dark bay colt is out of the unraced Slew Gin Fizz mare

Blazing Fizz, who is also responsible for Jamaican champion Hupomone (Omega

Code). Blazing Fizz, a half-sister to multiple stakes winner and Grade 2-placed

Blazing Rate (Exchange Rate), comes from the family of Grade 2 victors Darn That

Alarm (Jig Time), Strong Performance (Jig Time), Keats (Hennessy), Fairbanks

(Giant's Causeway) and Afleet Again (Afleet Alex), the 2011 Breeders' Cup

Marathon (G2) scorer.

In Summation was a notable juvenile of 2005, when he was a nose away from

being unbeaten in six starts. The winner of the Affirmed and Dr. Fager divisions

of the Florida Stallion S., he was just denied a sweep in the In Reality

division. His other juvenile stakes victories came in the Birdonthewire and B

L's Sweep. At three, In Summation placed in a trio of turf sprints -- the

Nearctic (Can-G2), Hollywood Turf Express (G3) and Restoration.

Later developing into a top older sprinter, In Summation set a total of four

track records. He established the benchmark for six furlongs over Del Mar's

Polytrack in the 2007 Bing Crosby H. (G1), and also that season, he blazed to a

5 1/2-furlong course record in Sneakbox over Monmouth's turf. In Summation

opened 2008 with back-to-back records on the Santa Anita Pro-Ride, first in the

5 1/2-furlong El Conejo H. (G3) and then in the six-furlong Palos Verdes H.

(G2).

His resume also features wins in the 2009 El Conejo and John McSorley and the

2007 Arlington Sprint H., along with additional stakes placings in the 2007

Vernon O. Underwood (G3) and 2008 Bing Crosby and Ancient Title (G1).

Having won or placed in a total of 18 stakes over five campaigns, In

Summation retired with $1,226,166 in earnings from a record of 29-12-6-1.

In Summation is out of the winning Fiesta Baby (Dayjur), making him a

half-brother to Canadian stakes winner Dakota Duke (Stormy Atlantic). His second

dam is multiple Grade 1 heroine Fiesta Gal (Alleged), and further back, one

finds New Zealand champion two-year-old filly Chant (Traditionally).

The 10-year-old stallion stands at Ocala Stud in Florida for a fee of $4,000,

stands and nurses.
