Keeneland January kicks off Monday for four-day stand

Keeneland has cataloged 1,583 broodmares and broodmare prospects, stallions and stallion prospects, yearlings, and racing prospects to take part in the 60th edition of the January Horses of All Ages Sale, which begins Monday in Lexington, Kentucky.
The sale, which runs through Thursday, is comprised of 678 broodmares and broodmare prospects, 628 yearlings, 264 horses of racing age, and 13 stallions and racing or stallion prospects.
A total of 154 covering stallions are represented in the sale, including Triple Crown king American Pharoah, Candy Ride, Into Mischief, Medaglia d’Oro, More Than Ready and Speightsown. American Pharoah is also listed among the 155 sires with yearlings in the sale. Others include Awesome Again, Bayern, Curlin, Honor Code, Malibu Moon, Pioneerof the Nile, Tiznow, Union Rags and Will Take Charge.
