Legendary announcer O'Sullevan dies at 97
Sir Peter O'Sullevan, whose calls entertained generations of racing fans in
the United Kingdom during his 50-year tenure at the BBC, died Wednesday at his
home at the age of 97.
O'Sullevan, who was also a racing columnist and prominent owner, retired from
his commentator duties in 1997, the same year he was awarded a knighthood.
