Mamdooha stretches win streak to four in Cicada

"No instructions for Eddie," McLaughlin assistant Art Magnuson said. "She

likes to stalk a little bit, and it worked out well. (Castro) was saving ground,

took some dirt. A little worrisome, but, boy, she really came home well."

"I knew there was speed in there, and it was good for me, but I couldn't  let

the speed get too far away," Castro added. "I saved ground and when I made the

turn for home, I let my horse run. She's a nice filly."

Sustainable wound up second, a half-length better than Alpaca Fina in third.

Next came Red Minx, Inspired Say Eye, Jonesin for Jerry and Rock Me Mama. Go

West Marie and Miss Behaviour were both scratched.

Mamdooha has not lost since finishing second in her career debut at Monmouth

Park in late September. She came back to capture a maiden special weight at

Aqueduct by four lengths in early November and then jumped successfully to

stakes company, posting a 4 1/2-length win in the seven-furlong Gin Talking at

Laurel Park December 7.

The chestnut filly cut back to six furlongs for her previous start and

registered a nose win in the January 12 Ruthless on the inner oval.

"She trains herself, pretty much. She's a light, slight little filly,"

Magnuson said. "We're always looking for a little further than six (furlongs),

but it's worked out well."

Mamdooha hails from a classy female family. She is the first foal to start

from the Rahy mare Marraasi, a half-sister to Rahayeb, the dam of champion turf

mare Lahudood and French stakes winner Kareemah. The third maternal dam is

English champion Height of Fashion, who produced English highweight Nayef;

multiple English classic winner Nashwan; and stakes winners Unfuwain, Alwasmi,

Mukddaam and Sarayir.
