TRACK BANDIT PREVIEWS

A baker's dozen of two-year-old fillies, one of which is entered as a

main-track only contestant, will travel 1 1/16 miles over the Belmont Park sod

in the $150,000 Miss Grillo S. (G3) on Wednesday. The impeccably bred

CONSEQUENCE (El Prado [Ire]) looked like a star in her turf sprint debut win for

Shug McGaughey, and we'll tab the chestnut with the hope that she can carry her

brilliance to this grass course. Produced from millionaire Educated Risk (Mr.

Prospector), the juvenile miss drew off by three widening lengths at the Spa

last out and looks like the real deal. John Velazquez will retain the mount on

the Kentucky-bred.

CASANOVA MOVE (Langfuhr) is kin to a pair of turf winners and has flashed as

much ability as any in the field to date, so the Jimmy Jerkens-trained filly is

a live horse in our opinion. A 9 1/4-length winner in her second outing, the

dark bay chased the speedy Mani Bhavan (Storm Boot) in the Spinaway S. (G1)

before tiring to fourth, but she shouldn't see any such early gas in this field.

Eibar Coa will be in the irons atop the Virginia-bred, who could parlay a

stalk-and-pounce trip into a win.

MEGACHURCH (Pulpit) rolled home to a 4 1/4-length grass win in her debut for

Tim Ritchey, posting a smart 101 BRIS Late Pace number in the process. We're not

overly excited about this one having to break from the widest post, and we're

not sure what the bay defeated in her win, but she did come home in :23 1/5 and

warrants respect, nonetheless.

MISS BODINE (Vindication) has been a hot horse before she never step foot

upon the racetrack, and the fact that she was 3-5 and 1-2 in her two starts

proves the point. The Kentucky-bred filly closed nicely in her debut for a close

second, but left no doubt with a clear-cut score at Saratoga last out for Bob

Baffert. The bay miss is clearly the speed of the field if she chooses to stay

in the race, so we have to include her in everything on her potential alone.

Javier Castellano has the call.

We have mixed emotions on LARAGH (Tapit), who'll be making her debut for

trainer John Terranova. The gray miss earned a solid Polytrack win at Woodbine

in her second start and finished fifth in the grassy Natalma S. (G3) last out,

after leading the way for the opening six furlongs. The turf that the

Kentucky-bred encountered that afternoon was soft, so if the Belmont sod is good

or even firm on Wednesday, her chances should improve. We'll use her in our

exotics.

MY MAGIC MOMENT (Forest Wildcat) improved a good deal in her turf debut for

Tom Albertrani, driving home a convincing winner on this course. The chestnut

New York-bred is cut out to handle this trip over the lawn, and she is well

drawn in post 2, which should allow her to save ground throughout this affair.

Rajiv Maragh has the call atop the exotics threat.

PUMPKIN SHELL (Lion Heart) ran a big one in her debut when second at Saratoga

prior to regressing in her next outing, both on the dirt. Conditioned by David

Donk, who specializes with turf runners, the intriguing chestnut could move up

some in her grass debut, and she is another gimmicks threat at a square price.

FREEDOM RINGS (Proud Citizen), the second of Donk's entries, earned a solid 95

BRIS Late Pace number at first asking and followed with a distant second in the

Fairway S. at Delaware, a race that was moved to the main oval. The Empire

State-bred could also challenge for a top three placing with a move in the right

direction.

OUR GOLDEN DREAM (Medaglia d' Oro) romped at 9-5 in her first outing for

trainer Tom Bush, taking a maiden tilt in wire-to-wire fashion at Saratoga. The

expensive yearling purchase looks like a nice prospect, but we feel strongly

that there was a speed bias on the Saratoga sod during the latter part of the

meet and we'll let this one beat us at low odds.

MARAM (Sahm) looked good beating maiden claiming foes at the Spa in her debut

for Chad Brown, but this seems like a hefty jump in class and we can't endorse

her on this day. COUNTESS SEAGRAPE (Arch) was second on the main oval in the

Junior Champion S. at Monmouth Park last out, but the Terri Pompay trainee has

yet to top a 70 BRIS Speed number. We can't endorse her here but do acknowledge

that she may get better on the weeds. ANCIENT FUTURE (Cat Dreams) looks well

below these and can't be recommended at this juncture.

SAARLANDISOURLAND (Saarland), the lone main-track only filly in the field,

appears to have little chance even if it comes off the green.
