Roll Reroll Stables Inc.'s MISS MACY SUE (Trippi) wrestled the advantage away

from the early leader in Saturday's $400,000

Presque Isle Downs Masters S. and was never headed after that en route to

posting an easy 1 1/2-length victory in the Erie, Pennsylvania, track's marquee

event of its opening meet. With Eusebio Razo Jr. aboard, the Kelly Von Hemel

trainee posted six furlongs in 1:08 1/5 over the Tapeta track as the 4-1 third

choice, paying $10.60, $7 and $3.80.

Wild Gams (Forest Wildcat) rallied from the back to take second, returning

$15.40 and $4.80 as the 16-1 sixth pick, and ending the $138.40 exacta. Smart

and Fancy (Not for Love) also came from the rear, getting up for the show as the

4-1 second favorite and giving back $3.40 while finishing the $810.80 trifecta

(1-4-6). Miraculous Miss (Mr. Greeley) was next under the line, followed by Mary

Delaney (Hennessy), Coli Bear (Formal Dinner), Vestrey Lady (Vicar) and 6-5

choice Shaggy

Mane (Bertrando).

Miss Macy Sue has now won five stakes this year, having previously scored in

the Winning Colors S. (G3) at Churchill Downs and Carousel S. at Oaklawn Park as

well as Prairie Meadows' Saylorville S. and Prairie Rose S. The four-year-old

lass pushed her earnings to $559,177 with the winner's share from this one, and

her line now reads 17-9-3-1.

The stakes action at Presque Isle began in the 5TH race, when Bushwood Stables LLC's

INDEPENDENT GEORGE (Cozzene) tracked the early leader in the $175,000

Presque Isle

Mile S. before taking over in the stretch and drawing off for a 2 3/4-length

score under Cornelio Velasquez. The Graham Motion-trained four-year-old finished

the mile event in 1:38 to add a first stakes win to his record, which now stands

at 11-4-3-2, $200,245. Grade 2 winner Super Frolic (Pine Bluff), the 8-5

favorite, was pulled up nearing the half-mile pole and vanned off.

One race later, Maggi Moss' INDIAN CHANT (Suggest) led nearly wire-to-wire

in the $175,000

Karl

Boyes Memorial Northwestern Pa. S. under Corey Lanerie, finishing 1 3/4

lengths in front of his closest rival. Trained by Tom Amoss, the four-year-old

gelding completed 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:02 2/5 to take his fourth straight race.

The chestnut garnered his first stakes score when taking the Prairie Meadows

Sprint S. on August 4, and now owns a 17-7-6-1 line and increased his earnings

to $341,135.
