Mutuel field completes hat trick in KDFW Pool 3

The mutuel field (#24), or "All Others," on Sunday became the favorite for

the first three pools of Churchill Downs' 2015 Kentucky Derby Future Wager (KDFW)

when closing as the 4-1 choice in

Pool 3.

American Pharoah (Pioneerof the Nile) (#1) attracted the lowest price among

the individual interests when closing at 8-1. The Bob Baffert pupil has been

working up a storm at Santa Anita Park to ready for his expected three-year-old

bow in the $750,000 Rebel S. (G2) at Oaklawn Park on March 14.

In Pool 1, the honor of favorite individual belonged to undefeated Dortmund

(Big Brown), whose final odds were 9-1. On Sunday, the chestnut (#6) closed at

those same odds to be the only other individual betting interest at single-digit

odds. The Baffert trainee is expected to line up next Saturday, March 7, in the

$400,000 San Felipe S. (G2) at Santa Anita Park.

Wagering was suspended on The Great War before the final day of KDFW Pool 3

opened Sunday.

Wagering on Pool 3 of the KDFW was offered at Churchill Downs and racetracks

throughout North America; on the web via

TwinSpires.com, the

official online wagering site of the Kentucky Derby and Churchill Downs Inc.;

and at other simulcast centers and off-track wagering sites.

No scratches or betting refunds are permitted in the Kentucky Derby Future

Wager, but betting will be suspended immediately on a wagering interest in any

KDFW pool if Churchill Downs determines that injury, illness or other

circumstance revealed during a pool would prevent a horse from competing in the

race.

the Kentucky Derby Future Wager were available and Brisnet also has

The fourth and final Pool of the 2015 KDFW is scheduled for March 27-29.
