first Derby Future

Pool 1 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager kicks off its four-day

run at noon (EST) on Thursday, and NOBIZ LIKE SHOBIZ (Albert the Great) is the

top individual on Churchill Downs handicapper Mike Battaglia's morning line at

8-1. The mutuel field, which includes all three-year-olds not listed among the

23 individual betting interests, is the early favorite at 7-2, and it has been

favored in Pool 1 in each of the previous eight years.

A sharp winner in Saturday's Holy Bull S. (G3), Nobiz Like

Shobiz is the only horse listed at single digits on the morning line. Juvenile

champion STREET SENSE (Street Cry [Ire]) comes next at 12-1. Six sophomores -- 

CIRCULAR QUAY (Thunder Gulch), DAY PASS (Five Star Day), E Z WARRIOR (Exploit),

NOTIONAL (In Excess [Ire]), RAVEL (Fusaichi Pegasus) and DREAMING OF ANNA (Rahy)

-- are tied for fourth on the morning line at 15-1. Juvenile fillies champion

Dreaming of Anna is the only individual filly on the list. She's also the

leading individual in the Kentucky Oaks Future, which runs concurrently, at 4-1.
