OBS August sale moved back one day
The Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's 2010 August Selected Yearling Sale will
be held on August 24, a day later than previously scheduled. The Selected
session will begin at 1:00 p.m. (EDT) instead of the customary 10:30 a.m.
"We are making these changes for the convenience of our buyers," OBS general
manager Tom Ventura said. "The extra day will give horsemen more time for travel
after the weekend stakes races and the later starting time will permit more time
for pre-sale inspection."
Two hundred horses have been cataloged for the Selected Sale, with 701 in the
Open Sale. The Open Yearling Sale is scheduled for August 25-26, with each
session beginning at 10:30 a.m. Hip No.'s 201-550 will be sold on August 25; Hip
No.'s 551-901 sell on August 26.
The sale features yearlings by a strong mix of proven and promising sires.
Leading sires Unbridled's Song and Tiznow are represented, as are Indian
Charlie, Tapit, Empire Maker, Malibu Moon and Candy Ride (Arg). Promising
first-crop sires Street Sense, Hard Spun and Any Given Saturday have yearlings
in the sale, as do rising stars Bluegrass Cat, Scat Daddy, Silver Train and
Rockport Harbor. D'wildcat heads a strong group of Florida-based stallions,
including Wildcat Heir, Montbrook, Put It Back, With Distinction, Trippi and
Congrats.
The catalog should be available on the OBS website at
obssales.com later this week, with catalogs in the mail before the
end of July.
In addition to catalogs for upcoming sales, the OBS website includes sales
results, the latest news regarding OBS graduates, sales schedules, nominations,
credit requests, travel information and other news relevant to OBS consignors
and customers. For catalogs or more information regarding the OBS August
Yearling Sale or OBS website, please call 352-237-2154.
