Old Fashioned works for Arkansas Derby

Remsen S. (G2) hero OLD FASHIONED (Unbridled's Song), gearing up for

Saturday's Arkansas Derby (G2), breezed five furlongs in 1:00 3/5 on

Oaklawn's fast track on Monday.

Jockey Terry Thompson, who will pick up the mount in the Arkansas

Derby, was aboard for the work.

Clockers caught the Larry Jones trainee galloping out six furlongs in

1:12 4/5.

"He came home well and he really went out well around the turn,"

Jones told Daily Racing Form. "That was the big thing. He

galloped out really well.

"It was really good. Old Fashioned was very relaxed early. We're just

getting him to relax and finish. It was perfect. He came back and

wouldn't have blown out a match. He's ready."

Old Fashioned captured the Southwest S. (G3) earlier in the meet

before suffering his first career loss in the Rebel S. (G2) last out.

Rebel upsetter WIN WILLY (Monarchos) is also expected to line up in

the Arkansas Derby.
