Elliot Mavorah's INTERPATATION (Langfuhr) broke his maiden in fine style on

Saturday when taking the $100,000

Palm Beach S. (G3) at Gulfstream Park to

record his first win. The three-year-old gelding was ridden to victory by Tom

Turner and stopped the clock in 1:47 for the nine firm grassy furlongs, just a

nose in front of 4-5 post-time favorite Tadreeb (Theatrical [Ire]).

Content to let the favorite carve out fractions of :24 3/5, :48 1/5, 1:11 2/5 and

1:35 for the mile, Interpatation entered the

stretch in sixth at 38-1, looking very deserving as the betting public's

longshot. But the sophomore was not finished, as Turner angled the dark bay into

clear sailing for the final eighth and an eventual win in a blanket finish. Tadreeb, a

slim nose back of the winner, was only a half-length in front of

third-place finisher Fishy Advice (Woodman), who in turn held a neck advantage

over Champagne Brunch (Robyn Dancer) in fourth, with that one a head in front of

Prince Rahy (Rahy). Less than a length separated the top five.

Gun Salute

(Military), Killenaule (Fusaichi Pegasus) and Fire It Up (Chester House)

completed the order of finish and So Swanky (Fly So Free) was withdrawn.

Interpatation paid $79.20, $17.80 and $7.80 to his faithful backers, starting

lucrative $1 exotics of $96.70 for the exacta, $669.80 for the trifecta and

$2,932.80 for the 5-2-6-7 superfecta. Tadreeb returned $2.80 and $2.40 and Fishy

Advice paid $6.60 for the show.
