Todd Pletcher, the reigning Eclipse Award-winning conditioner, established a

North American single-season record for earnings when saddling Spin Factor

(Indian Charlie) to a victory in Friday's 2ND race at Aqueduct.

Pletcher, who entered Friday $29,873 short of Bobby Frankel's previous mark

of $19,147,129 set in 2003, got off to a fast start when Acadiano (Royal

Academy) won the 1ST race at Calder Race Course by a nose, earning $9,000. Spin Factor, who

scored by 1 3/4 lengths under Jerry Bailey, earned $24,600 to give his trainer

the new honor.

"It's hard to put these things in perspective until later on," Pletcher said.

"Sometimes, you appreciate these things more later on when you try to go back and

do it again. It's been a great year; everything's clicked."

Winner of Thursday's Falls City H. (G2) with Indian Vale (A.P. Indy), Pletcher

could add a lot more to his new record this weekend. He has starters in both the

Clark H. (G2) and Top Flight H. (G2) on Friday, and has entered three horses,

Host (Chi) (Hussonet), Purge (Pulpit) and Value Plus (Unbridled's Song), for

Saturday's Cigar Mile H. (G1). He's also got juveniles entered in the Demoiselle

S. (G2), Golden Rod S. (G2), Remsen S. (G2) and Kentucky Jockey Club S. (G2) on

Saturday.

Pletcher did not enter Lion Tamer (Will's Way) in the Cigar Mile because a deal is in

the works to sell the five-year-old.
