Kentucky Derby (G1) winner GIACOMO (Holy Bull) will start from post 13 in

Saturday's Preakness S. (G1). The John Shirreffs-trained colt will face a full

field of 14 in the middle jewel of the Triple Crown and was installed as the

fourth choice at 6-1 on the morning line.

"I thought by taking post 13 he wouldn't be the last horse to load in the

gate and it would give him a chance to settle a little bit," Shirreffs said.

Giacomo, who could be overlooked in the Preakness due to his improbable,

come-from-behind, half-length victory in the 131st Kentucky Derby, arrived at

Pimlico at 1:40 p.m. (EDT) Wednesday.

"What an honor to go in that stall (Stall 40). What an honor to look up and

see (the names) Secretariat, Seattle Slew, Spectacular Bid," said Shirreffs,

after Giacomo was led into the stall that is traditionally reserved for the

Kentucky Derby winner.

AFLEET ALEX (Northern Afleet) was made the 5-2 morning-line favorite and will

break from post 12. The Tim Ritchey trainee drew the exact same post position

before finishing a close third in the Derby. In his prior start, the bay colt

rolled to an impressive eight-length victory in the Arkansas Derby (G2).

"I would have liked to have inside a lot more," Ritchey said. "Truthfully

five, six, seven, eight would have been a much better position. But all that was

left was on the outside. And I would much rather have the 12 than the 13 or 14."

The Nick Zito-trained HIGH FLY (Atticus) was installed as the 9-2 second

choice and will break from post 2. High Fly took the lead turning for home

before fading to 10th in the "Run for the Roses." Zito will also saddle NOBLE

CAUSEWAY (Giant's Causeway), who finished a troubled 14th in the Derby, and SUN

KING (Charismatic), who ran last in Derby 131. They will break from post 3 and

post 10, respectively.

"I think we did well today, every horse drew well, I'm pretty sure," Zito

said.

Kentucky Derby runner-up CLOSING ARGUMENT (Successful Appeal) was listed as

the 5-1 third choice for the Preakness. The Kiaran McLaughlin-trained colt had

the lead in midstretch before missing Kentucky Derby gold and glory by a half-length.

"We're in the middle of the gate, and I'm hoping (jockey) Cornelio

(Velasquez) can work out a good trip," McLaughlin said.

In other Preakness news:

GREELEY'S GALAXY (Mr. Greeley), who finished 11th in the Derby, is scheduled

to breeze three furlongs at Old Hilltop on Friday morning, according to Glen

Stute, who is handling the horse until his father, trainer Warren Stute, arrives

from California Friday evening.

The colt, who was supplemented to the Triple Crown at a cost of $200,000

after winning the Illinois Derby (G2), visited the starting gate and galloped

once around the one-mile oval on Thursday.
