Horse of the Year RACHEL ALEXANDRA (Medaglia d'Oro) will target the

Lady's Secret S. at Monmouth Park on July 24, principal owner Jess

Jackson announced Thursday.

The Lady's Secret was originally scheduled to be run at 1 1/16 miles

on August 1 as part of the Haskell Day card. However, with Rachel

Alexandra running, the race has been moved to July 24, and the purse has

been increased to $400,000. If Rachel Alexandra is unable to compete in

the Lady's Secret, the purse will revert to the originally scheduled

$150,000. According to Jackson's statement, the revamped Lady's Secret

will be held at 1 1/8 miles.

Rachel Alexandra visited Monmouth last campaign, when she romped by

six lengths in the Haskell Invitational (G1) versus males.

"We had a great experience at Monmouth Park," Jackson said, "and we

appreciate the overwhelming show of support the fans there have given us. It's

the perfect place to start what we hope will be another championship run."

Rachel Alexandra sealed her 2009 Horse of the Year title with victories over

males in the Preakness S. (G1) and Haskell Invitational, and a win over older

males in the Woodward S. (G1) at Saratoga.

This year, she ran second in both the New Orleans Ladies S. at Fair Grounds

and La Troienne S. (G2) at Churchill Downs before capturing the Fleur de Lis H.

(G2) at Churchill on June 12.
