LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- In a thrilling finish to the $594,600 Twin Spires Turf Sprint (G2) at Churchill Downs on Saturday, Yellow Card prevailed in a four-horse photo over pacesetter Joe Shiesty, 1.79-1 favorite Litigation, and My Boy Prince, who had beaten Yellow Card in last month's Shakertown (G2).

Yellow Card had endured a tough trip in the Shakertown, getting pinched back shortly after the start before making a belated rally for second. His trip in the Twin Spires Turf Sprint was much better, as he chased Joe Shiesty from second before gradually wearing down that rival in the final furlong.

But only a neck separated the top two, while Joe Shiesty finished a head in front of Litigation, who had only a nose on My Boy Prince. The order of finish was rounded out by Possiblemente, Mondogetsbuckets, Full Disclosure, Bear River, Its Bourbon Thirty, and Wendelssohn.

"Last time at Keeneland he got banged around at the half-mile pole and it wasn't his day," said Michael McCarthy, who trains the five-year-old for Jim Daniell. "I'm so proud of him and the effort he was able to put in today."

Yellow Card sped 5 1/2 furlongs under Flavien Prat in 1:02.20 over firm ground and paid $7.80.

The Twin Spires Turf Sprint was the first non-restricted stakes win for Yellow Card, who previously captured the Clocker's Corner S. at Santa Anita on Feb. 8. In addition to the Shakertown, the Kentucky-bred has also placed in the Franklin-Simpson (G1) and Eddie D. (G2).

The son of Lost Treasure has now won five of 14 starts.
