Rail Link to stand at Banstead Manor

Last updated: 8/21/07 7:44 PM

Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Fr-G1) winner RAIL LINK (Dansili [GB]) will take

up stud duties

next year alongside his sire at Juddmonte's Banstead Manor Stud near Newmarket,

England.

"We are delighted

to be

standing Rail Link, as there is every reason to hope that he can fill the void

left by Rainbow

Quest," said Philip Mitchell, general manager of Juddmonte Farms. "Besides being

a champion

son of a champion sire, he's an excellent physical specimen. He's a strong

powerful, really

good-looking colt, with the correct conformation breeders are looking for. He

also has a great

attitude."

Rail Link also captured the Grand Prix de Paris (Fr-G1), Prix de Niel (Fr-G1)

and Prix du Lys (Fr-G3) in 2006, compiling a 7-5-1-0, with nearly $2 million in

earnings, in his lone season of racing. He remained in training this year but

never made it back to the races. The four-year-old colt hails from the winning

Theatrical (Ire) mare Docklands and counts Group 3 winner and multiple Group

1-placed Chelsea Manor (Grand Lodge) as a half-brother.

Bandstead Manor

will also

be the destination of THREE VALLEYS (Diesis {GB}--Skiable {Ire}, by Niniski).

The six-year-old

captured the 2003 Coventry S. (Eng-G1) at Royal Ascot, finished second in the Dewhurst S.

(Eng-G1) and third in the Phoenix S. (Ire-G1). As a result of his exploits, he

was voted the co-highweight two-year-old in England. Transferred to the United

States in 2004, the six-year-old horse won the

2005 edition of the Del Mar Breeders' Cup H. (G2) and the Oceanport S. (G3) in

2006.

"Three Valleys will offer breeders the opportunity to use a very fast

two-year-old/miler

combined with arguably today's best female line," Mitchell said.

He hails from a strong female family. His dam, Skiable (Ire) (Niniski), is the fourth

daughter out of Kerali (High Line)) to have bred a group winner, following Arrive (Kahyasi), dam of Group

3 winner Visit; Dissemble (GB) (Ahonoora), dam of champion Leroidesanimaux (Brz)

(Candy Stripes; and Broodmare of

the Year

Hasili (Ire) (Kahyasi).
