TRACK BANDIT PREVIEWS

Ten sophomore fillies will square in off in Sunday's $100,000 Senorita S.

(G3) over the turf at Hollywood Park, and we'll give the edge to SHINING ENERGY

(Rahy). After winning her first two U.S. starts impressively, the Julio Canani

trainee stretched out to nine furlongs for the Providencia S. (G3) last out and

wound up tiring following a troubled trip. She cuts back to a favorable one-mile

distance and should benefit from her first experience against graded rivals last

time. Shining Energy owns a strong turn of foot and plenty of promise.

ROYAL COPENHAGEN (Fr) (Inchinor [GB]) offered a solid rally for second,

earning a 104 BRIS Late Pace rating, in the Providencia, and the Laura de Seroux

charge is a threat to mow down all of her rivals on Sunday. Overdue for her

first U.S. victory, the dark bay owns three runner-up finishes from four

attempts and appears to relish a mile. Royal Copenhagen is dangerous.

MASHINA (GB) (Vettori) could show more off a fifth in her first start

stateside, the China Doll S. The French import showed good class abroad and owns

two wins at the distance. We'll use her in the top three.

THATSWHATIMEAN (Belong to Me) captured the China Doll prior to finishing a

decent third in the Providencia most recently. She appears to be making good

progress for trainer Warren Stute and could offer a challenge for it all. THREE

DEGREES (Ire) (Singspiel [Ire]) is two for two in America for conditioner Paddy

Gallagher and has shown a good late kick each time. The gray miss will be facing

stakes rivals and stretching out to a mile for the first time, but Three Degrees

is hard to knock off her recent outings. She's a threat to continue her winning

ways.

ROYAL WAVE (Royal Academy) owns a couple of respectable recent attempts but

has never been two turns. The late-running dark bay may continue to show more

for conditioner Luis Seglin, so consider for the exotics. PRIVATE BANKING (Fr) (Anabaa)

makes her first start in the United States following a two-race campaign, both

wins, in France. She appears to be training well for the return off a lengthy

layoff, and the bay miss is another who must be considered for the top three.

UNUSUAL SPRING (Unusual Heat) is stuck on the far outside and has not fared

well in two previous attempts against stakes opponents. We can't recommend the

Cal-bred's chances here. DRAMATIC (Dynaformer) broke her maiden last time for

trainer John Shirreffs and could continue to show more in the future, but we'll

watch to see how she fares against stakes rivals. VIRDEN (Tactical Cat) ships in

from Arizona off a nice score in her turf bow, but she faces a difficult class

hike.
