Spinster attracts a pair of Belles

Grade 1 winners UNBRIDLED BELLE (Broken Vow) and LITTLE BELLE (A.P. Indy) are

top draws for Sunday's $500,000

S. (G1) at Keeneland. The 1 1/8-mile event over Polytrack will feature a

field of 11 distaffers and has traditionally served as a key prep for the

Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1) (renamed the Ladies Classic in 2008).

Unbridled Belle, a $1.5 million earner for Todd Pletcher, has been installed

as the 2-1 favorite on the morning line. Winner of the 2007 Beldame S. (G1), the

mare made her five-year-old debut a winning one in the Obeah H. (G3) in June and

recorded third-place finishes in the Personal Ensign S. (G1) and Delaware H.

(G2) in her last two outings. She won't face any rivals of the quality of Ginger

Punch (Awesome Again) or Hystericalady (Distorted Humor) in Sunday's field, but

Unbridled Belle will be making her first attempt over a synthetic track. John

Velazquez, who hasn't been aboard her since early in 2006, will retake the

mount.

Little Belle defeated next-out Kentucky Oaks (G1) victress Proud Spell

(Proud Citizen) when capturing the Ashland S. (G1) at Keeneland in April. The

sophomore filly finished second herself in the Oaks and didn't disgrace herself

with a runner-up finish in the Coaching Club American Oaks (G1) and a third in

the Alabama S. (G1) for trainer Saeed bin Suroor. Her seventh in the Ruffian H.

(G1) last time can be thrown out due to the sloppy conditions, and Little Belle

is a threat to run a big race in her return to Keeneland.

Other contenders include CARRIAGE TRAIL (Giant's Causeway), winner of the 1

1/16-mile Doubledogdare S. (G3) in her last start over Polytrack; JIBBOOM

(Mizzen Mast), who captured the Raven Run S. (G2) in her last appearance at

Keeneland; Grade 2 queen SHARP SUSAN (Touch Gold); Grade 1-placed INDESCRIBABLE

(Pleasant Tap); and Grade 3 winner and Grade 1 runner-up ROSINKA (Ire) (Soviet

Star), who scratched out of Friday's grassy First Lady S. (G1) to run in this

spot.

The $200,000

Bourbon S.

(G3) will also be offered on Sunday's program, and the 1 1/16-mile turf

affair for two-year-olds has attracted a leading contender for the Breeders' Cup

Juvenile Turf in BITTEL ROAD (Stormy Atlantic). Unbeaten in two starts for

Pletcher, the dark bay colt led wire to wire when capturing his debut at Belmont

Park and rallied from off the pace to win the With Anticipation S. at Saratoga.

He'll keep Velazquez in the stirrups. GIANT OAK (Giant's Causeway), who is

unbeaten in two starts at Arlington Park for Chris Block, is also part of the

12-horse field, and Irish import DRIVING SNOW (GB) (Verglas [Ire]) is an

intriguing entrant for trainer Darrin Miller. The gray colt exits a

respectable fourth-place effort versus Group 2 rivals at The Curragh.
