Tacitus and Vekoma, contenders on the Road to the Kentucky Derby, posted wins in their final preps for the May 4 Run for the Roses to be awarded triple-digit BRIS Speed ratings on April 6.
The pair were but two of many who garnered triple-digit BRIS Speed figures from April 2-8. Tacitus earned the higher number when taking home a 103 for his victory in the Wood Memorial (G2) at Aqueduct. Vekoma was two points behind with a 101 BRIS Speed rating for his score in the Blue Grass Stakes (G2) at Keeneland.
Roadster, who took the third Kentucky Derby points race when holding champion Game Winner by a half-length on the wire of the Santa Anita Derby (G1) at Santa Anita Park on April 6, garnered a 98 BRIS Speed figure.
Topping the week's stakes races was Come Dancing, who posted a stellar 114 BRIS Speed number for her 7 3/4-length romp in the Distaff Handicap (G3) at Aqueduct on April 5.
