Stuart Kesselman and Tony and Marilyn Melkonian's SIREN LURE (Joyeux Danseur)

used his customary late kick in Sunday's $300,000

Triple Bend

Invitational H. (G1) at

Hollywood Park to post a 1 1/2-length victory over nine rivals. As the winner

rated in midpack through the early going under jockey Alex Solis, defending

Triple Bend champion Unfurl the Flag (Bertrando)

set splits of :21 3/5, :43 4/5 and 1:08 3/5, dogged all the while by Battle Won (Honour and Glory).

The Art Sherman-trained Siren Lure started his move

rounding the bend and positioned himself within striking distance on the outside in midstretch. The bay gelding then blew past his rivals

to complete seven furlongs in 1:21 1/5 over Hollywood's fast track.

Siren Lure left the gate as the 3-1 second choice to pay $8.60, $4 and

$3.20, while leading $1 exotics of $27.80 (exacta), $208 (trifecta) and $713.90

(6-5-7-3 superfecta). Battle Won garnered runner-up honors despite his rider's

losing the whip late, giving back $5.80 and $4 at 4-1, while

Unfurl the Flag trailed by another length to return $5.80 at 7-1. Publication

(Petionville) trailed in last for much of the race but managed to get up for

fourth, 2 1/4 lengths adrift of third. Areyoutalkintome (Smokester), Vortex (GB) (Danehill),

Seattle Buddy (Seattle Slew), Prorunner (Tejano Run), 3-1 favorite Trickey Trevor (Demaloot

Demashoot) and Thunder Touch (Gulch) rounded out the order of finish.

Since being claimed at Bay Meadows in May of last year for $50,000, the

five-year-old Siren Lure has now posted victories in the Los Angeles H. (G3), Impressive

Luck II H., Daytona H., Robert K Kerlan Memorial H. and Blue Jay Way S. while

coming home third in the San Simeon H. (G3) and finishing just off the board in

fourth in the Del Mar Breeders' Cup H. (G2). This victory boosts his mark to

19-11-0-3 with $589,909 in earnings.

Bred in Kentucky by Desperado Stables, Siren Lure is the first registered

foal out of the Gulch mare Cantamar. Her most recent offspring include a

yearling filly named Rock Anthem (Mud Route) and a 2006 colt by Freespool.
