Wild Desert takes on five in Prince of Wales

Queen's Plate S. hero WILD DESERT (Wild Rush) will go for the second leg of

the Canadian Triple Crown on Sunday while facing off against five rivals in the

Prince of Wales S. at Fort Erie. Owned by Daniel Borislow, the bay sophomore is

currently under the watchful eye of Bobby Frankel while trainer Richard Dutrow

Jr. serves a 60-day suspension. It was while in Frankel's shedrow that Wild

Desert captured the Queen's Plate, posting a half-length win while earning his

first stakes victory.

Among those he'll face in the Prince of Wales are ABLO (Lite the Fuse) and

OUT FROM AFRICA (Cape Town). The former is the only other stakes winner in the

field, having scored in the Coronation Futurity in his final start as a

two-year-old. Trained by Roger Attfield, the bay ran fifth in the Queen's Plate

last out. Out from Africa owns placings in the Sunny's Halo S. and Plate Trial

S. and will be making just his fifth career start on Sunday.

The complete field for the 1 3/16-mile main track test, with riders, is

GRANIQUE (Mutakddim), Corey Fraser; AUTUMN SNOW (Rahy), Francine Villeneuve;

Wild Desert, Patrick Valenzuela; Ablo, Gerry Olguin; STEPHEN'S GIFT (Stephen Got

Even), Steven Bahen; and Out from Africa, Jono Jones.

All starters will carry 126 pounds.
