Only four horses have been entered in Sunday's $100,000 Bay Meadows Breeders'

Cup Sprint H. (G3), and SMOKEY STOVER (Put It Back) is clearly the one to beat.

Trained by Greg Gilchrist, the Harry Aleo colorbearer registered a whopping 114

BRIS Speed rating for his convincing 3 1/4-length score in the Sunshine Millions

Sprint S. last out and has reached triple digits in his last four starts. The

four-year-old gelding has developed into a very exciting sprinter, winning three

of his last four starts, and he could face very little resistance here.

AREYOUTALKINTOME (Smokester) finished second by a nose in the El

Conejo H. (G3) on New Year's Day at Santa Anita and has experience at Bay Meadows (2-0-1-1),

including a third in this event last year. The Doug O'Neill-trained gelding

finished a solid second in a turf sprint last out and could show more switching

back to the main track.

BRITT'S JULES (Jules) was claimed for $25,000 from Julio Canani three starts

back and has run well for his new connections, crushing $40,000 claimers two

starts back and just missing by a nose in the Fairfax S. most recently. Trained

by Bill Morey, the six-year-old gray gelding will show speed from the rail and

must be respected given his current form.

TRICKEY TREVOR (Demaloot Demashoot) has the back class to challenge, but the

Grade 2 winner ended 2006 on a sour note and lacked a punch when finishing third

in the Fairfax last out in his seasonal debut. His recent Speed ratings are also

low.
