Renegade, a troubled second to upset winner Golden Tempo in the May 2 Kentucky Derby (G1), will be favored to overturn that result on Saturday in the $2 million Belmont S. (G1), which will be run at Saratoga over 1 1/4 miles for the third and final time.

The Belmont, which will return to its traditional 1 1/2-mile distance at Belmont Park next year, attracted a field of nine. Renegade, previously the winner of the Arkansas Derby (G1) and Tampa Bay Derby (G3), has been installed the 2-1 favorite.

Second choice on the morning line is Chief Wallabee at 3-1. Fourth in the Kentucky Derby, Chief Wallabee had previously finished second in the Fountain of Youth (G2) and third in the Florida Derby (G1) by narrow margins.

Golden Tempo was installed at 9-2, while Fountain of Youth and Florida Derby winner Commandment, who finished seventh at Churchill Downs, is at 6-1 along with Louisiana Derby (G2) winner Emerging Market, the 10th-place finisher in the first classic.

Triple Crown race newcomers Growth Equity, Ottinho, Powershift, and Vitruvian Man complete the field.
