Subsanador prevailed in a three-way photo over National Treasure and Newgate in the California Crown (G1) at Santa Anita, earning a ticket to the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1).

The Pacific Classic (G1) isn’t the only Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” at Del Mar on Saturday. Two of the four undercard stakes are also part of the Breeders’ Cup Challenge program.

Trainer Phil D’Amato furnished the exacta in Friday’s $104,000 Oceanside S. on opening day at Del Mar, as the 4.70-1 Conclude got a decisive jump on favored stablemate Classical Cat.

Last seen landing the Dec. 30 Eddie Logan S. at Santa Anita, Classical Cat returns to action in the $100,000 Oceanside S. on the Friday kickoff at Del Mar.
