The bettors who pounded Kopion to 1-5 favoritism in Sunday’s $98,000 Santa Ynez S. (G3) at Santa Anita never had to take a deep breath. The chestnut filly brought her career tally to 2-for-2 with a decisive victory.

Michael Lund Petersen’s Adare Manor appeared to have a straightforward task on paper in Sunday’s Zenyatta (G2) at Santa Anita, and the 1-10 favorite ensured that there would be no suspense.

The Del Mar Debutante (G1) just eluded Hall of Famer Beholder during her 2012 juvenile campaign, but now she can boast of her daughter Tamara’s stunning victory in Saturday’s $303,500 renewal.

As the region braces for Hurricane Hilary, a more benevolent force of nature blew through Del Mar on Saturday – 4-5 favorite Anisette, who stormed from last to first in the Del Mar Oaks (G1).
