Danetime colt tops Magic Millions
A two-year-old colt by Danetime, selling as Lot No. 65, attracted an offer of
A$121,000 to top the Magic Millions Perth Horses in Training Sale Tuesday at
Belmont, West Australia. The bay, produced Marooned mare Famous Friend, was
consigned by Startribe as agent. He was one of 51 lots sold on the day for an
aggregate A$1,707,500. The average of A$33,480 was up over 17 percent on last
year's figure of A$28,526.
Though disappointed by the 62 percent clearance rate, Magic Millions managing
director David Chester remained upbeat.
"The two-year-olds who breezed up well this morning were the subject of
strong interest," he said. "There were buyers from around Australia and overseas
in attendance and they enjoyed a magnificent Perth day and picked out the
youngsters they liked."
