TRACK BANDIT PREVIEWS

Eight sophomore fillies are set to go in Friday's $250,000 Fantasy S. (G2) at

Oaklawn Park, and the competitive field features a diverse group. Some just

broke their maiden, others are returning off long layoffs and

a few are taking a step down from the Grade 1 level. BROWNIE POINTS (Forest

Wildcat) doesn't actually fit into any of those categories, and we're picking the Donnie Von Hemel charge to come out on top.

The chestnut miss ended her juvenile season with a nice win in the grassy Cimarron

S., took nearly two months off, and then returned to finish fourth, just three parts of a

length back, in the Bedanken S. She was sent off at 13-1 in her next start, the

Martha Washington S., but easily outran her odds to record the 2 3/4-length

victory. Brownie Points entered this test off a nice second in the Honeybee S.

over the track while going the 1 1/16-mile distance, earning a 95 BRIS Speed

rating in the process. She's run a number of times for a filly her

age but hasn't been overtaxed by being placed too far above her level, and the

chestnut hasn't finished worse than 3 1/4 lengths back since

her career debut. Brownie Points

looks ready to take her graded debut under Luis Quinonez.

QUIET KIM (Real Quiet) took eight tries to break her maiden, then was

immediately thrown to the wolves when saddled for the Santa Anita Oaks (G1).

Despite all that, the Bob Hess Jr. trainee represented herself well, finishing

second by just 2 1/2 lengths to top sophomore filly Balance (Thunder Gulch).

Quiet Kim earned a 93 Speed rating as well as a 98 BRIS Late Pace figure last out, and

she's run second twice in three tries at 8 1/2 furlongs. The

bay lass will be tough in this step down, especially with Pat Valenzuela in the

irons.

EX CAELIS (Fusaichi Pegasus) will be making her three-year-old bow here,

coming off a fourth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) last time.

The D. Wayne Lukas-trained dark bay is still looking for her first stakes win,

finishing second in the Alcibiades S. (G2) and Arlington-Washington Breeders'

Cup Lassie S. (G3) last season. She just returned to the worktab in March, first

showing up at Santa Anita before shipping to Churchill Downs, and could challenge for top honors with John Jacinto aboard.

READY TO PLEASE (More Than Ready) could surprise here at good odds. The

Todd Pletcher trainee broke her maiden in her seasonal debut two back at

Gulfstream Park, then returned over that same track to take a six-furlong

allowance by two lengths last out. Though she's coming off a nearly two-month break,

Ready to Please proved she could win off layoffs, taking her maiden after being

on the shelf for eight months. Stewart Elliott has the call.

SWEET FERVOR (Seeking the Gold) broke her maiden in her career debut last

year, then came back in late January to post a seven-length score in the

Gasparilla S. at Tampa Bay Downs. She made her graded bow in the Forward Gal S.

(G2) at Gulfstream Park, running a good fifth, and could easily challenge for a

top-three finish. SWEET IDEA (Langfuhr) captured her maiden and the next start by a combined

29 1/2 lengths at Sam Houston last year, then returned

and got her three-year-old campaign off to a rousing start with a 4 1/2-length

score in the Sam Houston Oaks last out. Though her numbers are a little low

compared to others in here, Sweet Idea could earn part.

MISS NORMAN (Artax) will be making her first start for trainer Karin Long in

this spot, her sophomore bow. The dark bay miss faced off against the best in

her division last year and could show more in the drop down, but we'll just

watch for

now. LADY DANZA (Cryptoclearance) owns lower numbers than others in here and

could be out of her class.
